RSM’S Global Academy shapes talent tor the future

Publication Date: 12-Aug-2009

RSM International, the worldwide audit, tax and consulting network of independent firms has just held its third annual RSM Academy in Eindhoven, bringing together 46 partners and senior managers from RSM member firms in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas. Focusing on international strategy, client service, cross-border technical expertise, project management and cultural awareness the week-long leadership development programme was designed to develop RSM member firms’ ability to work even more effectively together to serve international clients.

Working in multi-national syndicate groups, and using an international case study to further understanding of the programme topics, participants learnt how best to apply skills gained at the Academy for the benefit of global clients. Attendees also shared best practice from around the network and developed a clear understanding of the breadth of member firms’ expertise and capabilities.

Presentations were led by Jean Stephens, Chief Executive Officer, senior partners from RSM member firms and external consultants specialising in business relationships, mastering cultural differences, management development and executive coaching. Leading specialists from member firms also led courses on, amongst others, international tax, risk management, transaction support and IFRS.

Jean Stephens, CEO, RSM International says: “Over 150 participants have attended the RSM Academy over the last three years, with their learnings and experiences passed on to clients every day. We have invested a lot of time and intellectual capital in the RSM Academy to ensure clients are provided with a consistently excellent service from RSM International member firms. Events like the RSM Academy not only harness our cross-border capabilities, but help ensure we attract, train and retain the most talented professionals around the world.”
